In the cultural events calendar of Southeast Europe, the central position has been taken for many decades by the International Belgrade Book Fair. This regional largest event devoted to the book carries out promotion of literary creation and education, cultural exchange with foreign countries and the current literary and social matters launching.

Informally famous as the Book Fest, the Book Fair hosts annually the most important local and  many international writers and publishers, who feature their old editions and current production.

An important sign of the Book Fair is a plentiful side event program. Through many promotions, presentations, lectures, round table conferences and public discussions, the participants present to the professional and general audience, many topics important for literature, publishing and culture.

The 19th International Book Fair makes its dynamic comeback in May, with an extensive program of participations and cooperations in the Greek and international book market. From 4 to 7 May 2023, TBFwillhost, in 4 buildingsand 14 halls within the HELEXPO (12,13, 14, 15) more than 600 Greek and foreign book professionals and almost 500 events with the participation of more than 1.200 speakers.

This exciting initiative, taking place 6-9 March 2023 in Bologna, organized in collaboration with the Italian Publishers Association (AIE), was launched in 2021 to run in parallel to the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, providing a rights trading opportunity for the wider general trade audience across the global publishing industry.

The second edition in March 2022 was a very welcome physical event, co-located with Bologna Children’s Book Fair. Exciting exhibiting opportunities were available, with enticing offers for general trade publishers and others in this sphere. Alongside the exhibition were professional industry training events such as: How to Sell RightsCall Your Agent: How to Become a Successful Literary Agent; a Translation rights forum;  plus a Jackets off design award; Author Ambassador  programme, a topical seminar programme, and a hosted bookseller initiative.

March 2023 will bring all this and more for all those involved in general trade publishing.
